Nathaniel Bassey Petitions IGP Over Dèfamation; Seeks For Prøsecution Of People Who Claimed He Fàthered Mercy Chinwo’s Son

Gospel artist Nathaniel Bassey has requested the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to look into and take legal action against four individuals whom he alleges have engaged in criminal defamation and cyberstalking.

On April 1, 2024, the musician submitted the petition to the Inspector General of Police through his legal representatives, Peter Abraham, Uche Matthew, Gbenga Agunloye, and Anthony Abia.

Recently, four individuals on social media made claims that Nathaniel Bassey was the father of a child belonging to another well-known gospel singer. This allegation gained significant traction on social media platform X.

Consequently, the legal team urged the police authorities to promptly address the petition against the four social media users named as Okoronkwo Ejike, Kingsley Ibeh, Terrence Ekot, and DJ Spoiltkid.
