New Commissioner of Police assumes duty as 43rd [CP] in Kaduna State Command

Mr Gyogon Grimah on Thursday assumed duty as the 43rd Commissioner of Police(CP), Kaduna State Command

The command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mansir Hassan, announced in a statement he issued in Kaduna.

Hassan said,”The  Command wishes to inform the public that Mr Grimah  has assumed duty on Friday as the new CP, Kaduna state Command.”

He said the new CP  took over from the immediate past Commissioner of Police Mr  Audu  Dabigi, who retired from the force on  Oct. 1.

Hassan disclosed that the new CP hails from Nassarawa State and  he holds a BSc. Hons in Chemistry from Ahmadu Bello University  Zaria and Masters in Public Administration.

He said,” The vibrant young Grimah was enlisted into the Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in  May, 1992 and trained at Police Academy Annex, Kaduna.”

 He said he had served in several states Commands and Police formations in various capacities.

They included: Patrol & Guard (P&G) Ops, Enugu State Command, Unit Commander (U/C) in 27 PMF Katsina State and 2I/C Squadron Commander in 27 PMF Katsina State.

Others included: Staff Officer, Federal Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) S/Gari Division, Katsina State and Investigator in Special Fraud Unit (SPU), FCID Abuja.

He was also a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC), Department of Operations, Ekiti Command, CP, Information Communication Technology (ICT), FHQs Abuja and CP, Cross River Command, from where he was posted to Kaduna.

Hassan said the new CP has vast knowledge and experience in Police Operations, Investigation and Administration.

He said he has pledged to utilise the knowledge in the administration of the Kaduna command to subdue the various forms of criminality in the state.

“He has charged all  the officers and men of the command to be focused on their responsibilities of maintaining law and order without jettisoning professionalism.

“The CP  is soliciting for the support of all the stakeholders in the discharge of his responsibility, “he said.

Hassan said the new CP was not unmindful of the yearnings of the people of the state in terms of security; adding,”though this is multi-tasking, it is surmountable with a collective commitment.
