I am really proud of the Yoruba nation. I hope you all see how Yoruba words have dominated the newly added Nigerian words in the Oxford Dictionary. This is exactly what I’ve been saying. These words made it unlike Igbo words , many Yoruba words are not translated into English, and so Oxford had no choice but to add them to their dictionary for the world to learn about them.
However, you have translated words like Ụdara, Abacha, Akpụ, and many other Igbo words into English, just to show how educated you are, without realizing that you’re hurting your own identity. This is why some of you still call us “Ibo,” without correcting those who call our language we as a people”IbO” or “Ibo language
And the funny thing about all of this is that it was an Igbo man by the name of Kingsley Ugwuanyi who pushed for it and made sure these words were added to the Oxford Dictionary.
