NIGERIANS WANT THEIR OWN ACTOR PETE EDOCHIE AND NOT BRITISH ACTOR IDRIS ELBA.

Nigerian social media users are questioning the choice of British actor Idris Elba to portray Okonkwo in the adaptation of Chinua Achebe’s novel, ‘Things Fall Apart’.

They believe a Nigerian actor, like Pete Edochie, would have been the right fit. Many Nigerians believe a foreign actor may struggle to accurately represent the character’s heritage and language. Elba’s ability to portray an authentic African accent is also being questioned.

BUT what they don’t understand is the advantage Idris Elba has over Edochi Globally, and the Movie Industry (Business Wise) Elba will sell more than Edochi.
