According to Newsmen, The Nigerian film industry, Nollywood, is set to bid farewell to one of its iconic actors, Amaechi Muonagor, who passed away on March 24, 2024, at the age of 67. The late actor’s family has announced his burial date, which will take place on June 21, 2024, in his hometown of Ugamuma village, Obosi, in Anambra State.
Muonagor was a beloved figure in Nollywood, known for his exceptional talent and versatility in playing both comical and epic roles. His death was met with an outpouring of tributes from his colleagues and fans, who remembered him for his mastery of his craft and his ability to bring characters to life on screen.
The burial ceremony will commence on June 20, 2024, with a service of songs at his residence, followed by a lying-in-state at his residence on June 21, before the burial service. A thanksgiving service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Ugamuma Obosi, on June 23, 2024.
Muonagor’s legacy in Nollywood will be deeply missed, but his contributions to the industry will continue to be celebrated through his body of work, which has entertained and inspired countless fans over the years. May he rest in peace.
