Chinua Achebe published his debut novel, “Things Fall Apart,” which would catapult him to fame and become the most widely read African novel ever written. This remarkable piece of literature has been translated into 61 languages and has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

At the young age of 28, Achebe introduced the world to a masterpiece that continues to resonate with readers. Its impact is evident in its numerous accolades and recognitions. TIME Magazine included “Things Fall Apart” on its prestigious list of the 100 best English-language novels ever written. In 2018, Encyclopedia Britannica recognized it as one of the 12 greatest books ever. The novel’s influence also extends beyond literary circles, as it was ranked number 5 on BBC’s 100 Stories That Shaped the World and featured among the 100 books on the TV series “The Great American Read.”
