Palmer tipped to become first midfielder to ever win golden boot after breaking Hazard’s record

Cole Palmer continues to rewrite the Premier League history, inching closer to becoming the first midfielder to ever win a Golden Boot.

Despite a season marred by inconsistency for Chelsea, Palmer’s individual brilliance stands out.

With a second hat-trick in three games, the young midfielder is now level with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland in the race for the Premier League highest goal scorer of the season.

Should Palmer clinch the award, he would make history as the first midfielder to do so in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old also ranks as the second in assists with nine to his name so far.

The English star is also the first Chelsea player in five years to clock 20 goals in a single season.
