Chelsea host Everton in this latest round of Premier League fixtures.
The teams will have to wait until Monday night before they meet at Stamford Bridge, so it could be a frustrating weekend watching clubs around them pick up points.
Chelsea sit ninth in the league table and have a lot of work to do to finish in the European spots.
As for Everton, they’re currently only two points above the relegation zone and nervously looking behind them.
Paul Merson has now predicted the result for the upcoming league meeting between Chelsea and Everton.
It’s interesting to hear him say he doesn’t expect the visiting attack at Stamford Bridge to test the Blues too much. However, we’ve got big doubts about that.
Merson told Sportskeeda: “Everton will go to Stamford Bridge and look to keep it tight, but I just can’t see them hurting Chelsea. Against Burnley, they got all three points, but the goal they scored was from a fortunate break, to say the least. Their cup final is next week when they face Nottingham Forest at home – that game could well define their season…
“Chelsea have been well below par this season, but I think they should get the job done at home.
“Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Everton.”
