Plateau Speaker swears-in nine APC lawmakers out of 16, appoints Deputy Speaker

Speaker Gabriel Dewan of the Plateau State House of Assembly has sworn in nine out of the 16 All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers.

The swearing-in ceremony reportedly took place in the early hours of Friday in Jos, the state capital.

Additionally, it was revealed that one of the members from Jos East was appointed as the Assembly’s Deputy Speaker.

The justification for the swearing-in was reportedly based on a letter received by Dewan. However, the specifics of the letter and its contents were not disclosed.

The swearing-in of the lawmakers is likely to have significant implications for the political landscape of Plateau State.
