Nasarawa: Police gun down suspected armed robber in Mararaba, recover items
The Nasarawa State Police Command has announced the neutralisation of a suspected armed robber, identified as Ifienyichukwu Ilegalu, in the Mararaba area of Karu Local Government during a robbery operation.
According to DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer, one Edache Joseph, who was part of the robbery gang, was also apprehended.
The arrest followed a recent initiative by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, to revamp the community policing framework in the Maraba area, where several incidents of robbery were reported.

“Upon receiving information on April 5 that a gang of eight armed robbers was attacking residents of Aso Pada, Mararaba area, police operatives, along with vigilantes and brave community members, pursued the criminals, resulting in the death of one suspect and the arrest of another”.
“The arrested suspect is providing valuable information to aid further investigation”.
The Commissioner of Police commended the efforts of the police operatives, vigilante groups, and community members for their bravery, assuring them of continuous support. He urged the public to cooperate with the police to rid the state of criminals.
