Thai dry bulk player Precious Shipping has continued its fleet renewal push with the sale of a 2013-built supramax.
The Khalid Hashim-led listed owner is shipping out the 53,857 dwt Wikanda Naree for $13.66m.
The vessel built at Hindustan yard in India is expected to change hands by April 8 this year.
Precious Shipping said the sale was in line with the company’s strategy to rejuvenate its fleet by selling older vessels and acquiring younger vessels.
The vessel is the second sold by Precious Shipping this year, following the disposal of twenty-two-year-old handy bulker Rattana Naree for about $6.5m. This was countered by the acquisition of the 2018-built 39,989 dwt Interlink Amenity for 25.5m.
After the latest disposal and delivery of the Interlink Amenity, the company’s fleet will stand at 37 vessels.
