President Tinubu Approves N108 Billion for the 36 States to Tackle Flood Menace
I don’t think the entire problem of Nigeria lies with the Presidency. Many people seem sentimentally biased when pointing fingers at the issue. I believe that if our Governors, Senators, and House of Representatives members carefully utilized the funds received from the Federal Government for community development, no one would remember who the President of Nigeria is.
Most countries we praise today are larger than Nigeria, and many citizens don’t know who their presidents are because their local leaders are effective. In Nigeria, since our Governors, Senators, and Representatives are often from the same tribe, we have reservations and divided opinions about their mismanagement.
It is easier for the majority of people in Enugu to criticize Tinubu than to criticize Governor Mbah. The reason is that Mbah is seen as one of their own, while Tinubu is not. It may surprise you that many Governors may not use this money to prevent floods as intended, and people will still blame Tinubu.
