President Tinubu Approves Southeast Campus of Nigerian Aviation College in Ebonyi State
In a major move to decentralize and improve aviation education and training across Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the establishment of six campuses of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, to be spread across the six geopolitical zones.
The decision aims to enhance operational efficiency, ensure nationwide coverage, and promote the smooth running of aviation training. Under the new structure, each zone will have a dedicated campus to cater to its specific needs, fostering growth and accessibility in the aviation sector.
The approved locations for the six campuses are as follows:
1. Southwest: Akure, Ondo State
2. South-South: Osubi, Delta State
3. Southeast: Ebonyi State
4. North-Central: Ilorin, Kwara State
5. Northeast: Yola, Adamawa State
6. Northwest: Zaria, Kaduna State (the headquarters).
The establishment of the Southeast campus in Ebonyi State is a notable development that is expected to boost the region’s contribution to Nigeria’s aviation industry, while also providing opportunities for specialized training and employment in the area.
