President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu have left Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, following their participation in the 2024 G20 Leaders’ Summit.
The two-day event, hosted by Brazilian President Lula da Silva, focused on the theme, “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.”
During the summit, held from November 18 to 19, Tinubu engaged in discussions aimed at bolstering Nigeria’s socio-economic reforms.
According to President Tinubu, “This summit was an opportunity to align Nigeria’s developmental goals with global best practices.”
The meeting brought together leaders from the world’s 20 largest economies, including multilateral organisations like the African Union and the European Union.
Key topics included sustainable development, global governance reforms, climate change, and the digital economy.
Tinubu was accompanied by top officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar and Minister of Livestock Development Idi Maiha, among others.
“Our delegation ensured that Nigeria’s perspectives on critical global issues were adequately represented,” noted Yusuf Tuggar.
Tinubu’s presence underscored Nigeria’s commitment to global cooperation. As he departed, the president reiterated his administration’s dedication to translating the summit’s outcomes into actionable reforms.
