Rivers Crisis: Martin Amaewhule Reacts As Appeal Court Retains Oko-Jumbo As House Of Assembly Speaker

Martin Amaewhule, the ousted Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has voiced his reaction to the Appeal Court’s decision to uphold Victor Oko-Jumbo’s position as Speaker.

In his remarks, Amaewhule commended the judiciary for its unwavering commitment to the rule of law and the role it plays in maintaining stability within the state.

In a video posted by AIT on their YouTube channel, Amaewhule expressed his gratitude to the court for ensuring that justice prevails.

He acknowledged the importance of legal frameworks in sustaining governance and praised the judiciary’s efforts in upholding democratic principles.

Despite his removal from office, Amaewhule conveyed his respect for the court’s ruling and showed a willingness to move forward in a manner that promotes peace and order.

Amaewhule also assured his supporters and fellow legislators of his commitment to the rule of law.

Amaewhule said, “I thank the Court of Appeal for what they’re doing for this country, especially for their efforts in ensuring that the rule of law remains the order in this country.

“We thank them for what they’re doing for this country, and our hope is that we continue to serve this country in that capacity.”
