RTEAN Announces New Transport Fare List Under FG’s 50% Subsidy Scheme
The Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) has unveiled a new fare structure for travel across 12 states, reflecting the Federal Government’s 50% transport subsidy initiative.
As one of the five transport unions collaborating with the government on the palliative scheme, RTEAN aims to ease the burden of transportation costs on Nigerians.
According to a fare list obtained by Igbo History and verified by RTEAN’s National General Secretary, Yusuf Ibrahim, the revised prices include:
Abuja to Asaba or Akwa at ₦17,500
Abuja to Abakaliki at ₦12,500
Abuja to Dutse at ₦7,500
Lagos to Benin at ₦7,500
Lagos to Onitsha, Katsina, or Lafia at ₦15,000
Lagos to Bauchi or Jigawa at ₦12,500
Lagos to Kebbi or Yola at ₦20,000
Ibrahim noted that the listed routes were part of the allocations assigned to RTEAN by the Federal Government under the subsidy scheme.
