Haaland has only managed two goals in his last five games for Manchester City, and the Blues have not scored in any of their last three contests.
After a five-month layoff following hamstring surgery in August, De Bruyne has made seven starts for Manchester City.
In addition to playing Villa on Wednesday, City will play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon. They will also play Real Madrid in a crucial first-leg match of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal on Tuesday.
