Tinubu appoints 36-year-old engineer, Uzoma Nwagba as Managing Director/CEO of CREDICORP

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Engineer Uzoma Nwagba as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP).

The announcement was made by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a press statement released on Friday.

Ngelale stated that the appointment reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring financial inclusion and economic prosperity for most Nigerians.

Engineer Nwagba, aged 36, holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a first-class Bachelor of Engineering from Howard University, Washington DC.

Before he was appointed Managing Director/CEO of CREDICORP, Engineer Nwagba served as Chief Operating Officer of the Bank of Industry (BoI), overseeing micro-credit and other financial interventions.

He was also a senior investment associate at the African Capital Alliance, specializing in financial services.

Before his career in finance, Engineer Nwagba worked as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, leading teams responsible for building enterprise and mobile software for emerging markets such as Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and Nigeria.

In his new role, President Tinubu expects Engineer Nwagba to leverage his extensive experience in finance and technology to expand access to credit for all classes of Nigerian citizens, promote financial inclusion, and enhance the quality of life for the Nigerian people.
