To Avoid Varsities Shut Down, FG Releases Withheld NASU Salaries – Green White Green

The Federal Government has distributed funds to cover outstanding salaries for members of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) in federal universities, along with benefits owed to retirees under the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme.

This update was shared in a statement released on Saturday by Bawa Mokwa, who serves as the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.

According to Mokwa, payments to NASU members have already started, and many have confirmed receiving their dues.

“The Federal Government has released funds for payment of withheld salary of Non-Academic Staff Union of Federal Universities,” the statement noted.

Additionally, the OAGF clarified that funds have also been allocated to settle benefits for retirees who are part of the Nigerian Union of Pensioners Contributory Pension Scheme.

“The OAGF said payments to the Non-Academic Staff of Federal Universities had commenced and many have confirmed receipt,” the statement added.
