TRAGEDY STRIKES AKS COLLEGE OF NURSING SCIENCES: PROMISING STUDENT NURSE RICHARD JOHN PASSES AWAY

The Akwa Ibom State College of Nursing Sciences community was plunged into mourning following the sudden and untimely demise of Nurse Richard John, a final-year Student Nurse.

According to sources, Richard John was just two weeks away from sitting for his Final Qualifying Examination for Psychiatric Nurses when tragedy struck.

The College’s Management, Staff, Students led by the Provost Mrs Ekaette Akan paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family, offering prayers and support during this difficult time.

Described as a vibrant and dedicated Student Nurse, Richard John’s passing has left an unfillable void in the College. “We are deeply saddened by Richard’s untimely departure,” said Mrs Eka Akan , Provost, AKS College of Nursing Sciences. “He was an exceptional student with a bright future ahead.”

Colleagues, teachers, and friends remembered Richard John for his compassion, kindness, and commitment to the nursing profession. “Richard was an outstanding student with a passion for mental health nursing,” said Mrs. Esther Godwin, Lecturer. “His legacy will inspire future generations.”

The AKS College of Nursing Sciences has declared a period of mourning, with flags flown at half-mast. Counseling services have been made available to students and staff to cope with the loss.
