A second time, the state would be witnessing such a feat, the governmentnt made the announcement in a circular is see by the Zamfara State Head of Service on December 28.
In a statement, Sulaiman Idris, a spokesperson for Governor Dauda Lawal, the 13-month would be enjoyed by both workers and retirees alike.
He said the beneficiaries will receive 30 per cent of their basic salary as their 13-month.
Idris said in the statement, “This initiative acknowledges the dedication and hard work of the Zamfara workforce by providing them with extra financial support during the holiday season.
“The 13th month salary payment initiative is one of several ideas to empower workers and foster economic growth in Zamfara State,” he said.
He further noted that the Zamfara state government has already cleared over N10 billion in gratuities owed retirees over the past 11 years.
In addition, the state government has approved the new N70,000 national minimum wage of N70,000 for all workers in the state.
