Yobe Beefs Up Security, Assures Of Hitch-Free Sallah Celebration

The Yobe State Government has assured that adequate preparations have been put in place towards ensuring a hitch-free Eid-El-Fitr celebration in the state.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Mai Mala Buni, the state’s Deputy Governor, Hon Idi Gubana, gave the assurance after a strategic Security Council meeting by heads of all security agencies in the state.

Governor Buni said security personnel have been mobilized to take charge of strategic places and social activities to maintain peace.

He added that security agencies have been alerted to be in strategic places before, during and after the celebration to nip any potential security threat in the bud.

In his response after the meeting, the State’s Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Garba said the security measures include deployment of security personnel to Eid grounds across the state.

The CP further said security personnel will be at all the strategic places and places of social activities saying everyone will be happy at the end of the Sallah holiday for experiencing a successful Eid-El-Fitr celebration.

The Police Commissioner urged parents and guardians to monitor the movement of their children to prevent unscrupulous elements take advantage of the celebration thereby wreaking havoc on lives and properties.

Similarly, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Yobe State Road Traffic Agency (YOROTA) have also assured that they will embark on special patrol to ensure that motorists and other road users adhere to safety standards during the celebration period.
