Yobe PDP Support Groups endorse Damagum, disown Ugochinyere-led coalition

The Yobe State PDP Support Groups, under the leadership of Lawan Munkaila, Director of Support Groups Presidential Campaign Council 2023, have taken a decisive stance in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) political landscape by aligning themselves with the Reps Minority Caucus.

In a bold move, the groups endorsed AMB Umar Iliya Damagum as the acting chairman of the PDP and unequivocally disowned the Ugochinyere-led coalition, a statement by Lawan Munkaila, Director of Support Groups Presidential Campaign Council, disclosed.

The Reps Minority Caucus, in the statement issued in Yobe State, Nigeria on April 11, 2024, made it clear that Honourable Ikenga Ugochinyere and his associates do not represent their views.

They emphasized that the demands put forward by the coalition do not align with the stance of the minority caucus nor do they reflect the aspirations of over 200 million Nigerians.

Expressing their unwavering support for the PDP, the Yobe State PDP Support Groups emphasized the need for unity within the party.

They highlighted the attempts by certain factions to sow seeds of division and discord, reiterating that the PDP stands as the largest political party in Africa.

In a collective plea to the Board of Trustees (BoT), PDP Caucus, and all esteemed Nigerians, the Yobe State PDP Support Groups urged all to disregard the requests put forth by Ugochinyere and his allies, emphasizing the importance of allowing AMB Umar Iliya Damagum to continue leading until the PDP can solidify its stance for a better Nigeria.
