Group Call Police To Revoke Bail Granted To Hon Aminu Ibrahim Kasuwar Daji Member Representing Kaura Namoda South In The Zamfara State House of Assembly Over Armed Banditry And Kidnapping Related Offences
The Zamfara North Progressive Movement has called on the Zamfara State Commissioner of Police to expedite, investigate prosecute suspects in accordance with the law and justice
While briefing the press conference, the Group appeal to GOV Dauda Lawal, Inspector General Of Police To ensure perpetrators face justice in spite of political affliction.
While having a press conference, the Chairman of the Zamfara North Progressive Movement, Ahmed Abubakar Birane said.
” The Zamfara North Progressive Movement is alarmed by the spate of armed banditry, killings of innocent citizens and kidnapping for ransom in Zamfara State and urges the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the Police Command to expedite action in the investigation and prosecution of suspects to serve as a deterrent to others who may wish to commit such heinous crimes against humanity.
We are particularly worried by the delay in the investigation and prosecution of those detained or granted bail in the abduction of a District Head, Alhaji Ibrahim Sarkin Fada Kasuwar daji by armed bandits .
The district head was in captivity for more than six months and was released after his son, a former State House of Assembly member, Hon. Anas Ibrahim S/Fada paid ransom.
The investigation started after an armed bandit was arrested by security agents.
In the course of interrogation in Police custody, the bandit mentioned one Hali Sidi from Kaura Namoda where armed bandits frequently attacked innocent people, kidnapped them for ransom, kill others and rustle cattle in Kaura town and environ.
Armed bandits activities were extended to Sakajiki village, Kurya Madaro town, and Kasuwar Daji town where the District Head, Ibrahim Sarkin Kasuwdaji was kidnapped and ransom paid for his release from bandits’ captivity.
In the course of interrogation of the arrested bandit, Hali Sidi, Kaura Namoda, it was revealed that the armed bandits kingpin who has been terrorizing Kaura Namoda town and its environs, Dansadiya was a close ally to Hali Sidi who is aiding and abetting armed banditry, kidnapping for ransom, cattle rustling, killing of innocent people and security agents in the area.
After the arrest of the armed bandits, he further revealed that he collaborated with a serving member of Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Aminu Ibrahim representing Kaura Namoda South.
There is a grievous allegation that he collaborated with Hali Sidi and Dansadiya to coordinate the abduction of the father of the former member of the State House of Assembly, Hon Anas S/Fada with the intention to intimidate him and harass the family to distance themselves from the politics of Kauru Namoda South completely.
After the release of Hon. Anas’s father he moved out of Kasuwdaji for fear of being kidnapped or killed by armed bandits.
The serving member of the State House of Assembly is a classmate and close political associate of the current member of the House of Representatives representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji in the National Assembly Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji.
The House of Assembly member, Hon. Aminu Ibrahim was arrested and detained by the State CID in Zamfara State Police Command.
He was later granted bail after intensive pressure from Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji to drop the case because of its political nature, which may jeopardise the ambition of Jaji in 2027 as he has a close relationship with the suspects both from the same Senatorial District and party.
At the same time, the former member of the State House of Assembly Hon Anas S/Fada father was in bandits’ captivity for many months before he regained freedom.
The State CID invited him, which he honoured and made a statement on how his father was kidnapped and who aided and abetted his abduction.
He was shocked that his successor at the State House of Assembly conspired with Hali Sidi now in detention to abduct his father, which the bandit said was politically motivated.
There were more attacks at Kasuwar Daji town.
The State Financial Secretary of APC and former State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) families abducted by bandits and spent months in captivity.

Investigation also revealed that the serving member of the State of House of Assembly conspired with the Hali Sidi and collaborated with bandits’ kingpin to kidnap family members of Hamisu Kasuwar Daji
We call on Police authorities not to spare anybody found wanting in the course of investigation no matter how highly placed. We demanded that the revoke of the bail grant the member State House of Assembly until the investigation is completed.
Banditry and kidnapping are serious offences. It is inappropriate to release release anybody allegedly involved in kidnapping because he is connected to a House of Representatives member representing Kaura Namoda / Birnin Magaji
We also appeal to Governor Dauda Lawal and the Inspector General of Police to wade into the matter and ensure the perpetrators of this crime should face the full weight of the law.
