President Tinubu has enough wealth, won’t loot Nigeria’s resources- Cabinet Minister

Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the “epitome of wealth” with no intention to exploit the nation’s resources.

Speaking during the Joint Union Negotiating Council’s (JUNC) week at the Federal Ministry of Youth Development in Abuja, Olawande emphasised that Tinubu’s focus is on serving the country rather than personal gain.

The event, themed “The Working People in a Volatile, Uncertain, and Complex Economy,” saw Olawande urging Nigerians to exercise patience, assuring that positive changes under Tinubu’s administration will soon become evident.

He said: “I urge you to be patient with this administration. In no distant time, the country will take a good shape and the lives of its citizens will be transformed.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not a pauper, he is an acknowledged epitome of wealth, and so it cannot be said of him that he desires to loot the treasury of Nigeria. He has seen money and as a result of this, he is not interested in looting the nation’s treasury.

“Leadership is all about being committed to serve. If you are a Minister now, tomorrow you will be addressed as a former Minister, likewise a Director because there is no permanent position but the impact that you made while in that office will speak after you.”

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a two-term governor and former Senator during Nigeria’s short-lived Third Republic, has extensive business interests across sectors like tourism, real estate, and media.

At an inter-denominational church service held at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, just before Tinubu’s inauguration as President, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu emphasised that their family does not rely on Nigeria’s wealth for survival.

Speaking at the event, the three-term Senator stated, “Nigeria’s wealth is the commonwealth of all. It belongs to everyone. God has blessed my family. We don’t need Nigeria’s wealth to survive, but we are committed to doing the right thing. With God’s help and yours, we will put this nation on the right path.”
