Speculation suggests the visit might be tied to the 2027 presidential election.

Customs Officer Guns Self Down In Abuja

An officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Abuja, Abdulwahab Magaji, reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his residence. He was found deceased by family members, and police confirmed his death upon arrival at the scene. The body was subsequently handed over to his family for Islamic burial rites. The NCS spokesperson could not be reached for comment.

Gunmen storm Edo community, kill one, burn cars, houses

Gunmen, claiming to be ‘Ijaw Freedom Fighters,’ attacked Imariogha community in Edo State, setting fire to vehicles and houses. One person was killed in the incident, and a community leader sustained injuries and was hospitalized. The Edo State Commissioner of Police confirmed the attack and stated that security agencies are collaborating with the Okomu Oil Palm Company to address the situation. The attackers reportedly arrived at midnight, shooting and causing destruction before fleeing.

FCT Police arrest 10 suspected ‘one chance’ robbers, recover N2m cash

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has announced the arrest of 10 suspected ‘one chance’ robbers in separate operations. In one incident, operatives from the Maitama Division intervened after hearing a victim’s cry and chased down the suspects, leading to their arrest. Another six suspects were apprehended by the Lugbe Division following a report from a victim who was robbed of over N2 million while in a vehicle. The police recovered cash, vehicles, and firearms from the arrested individuals.
